The Live Departure Times option allows you to retrieve real-time information about departure times. RTA provides departure times (instead of arrival times) because a departure time is applicable to someone waiting at the beginning of a bus route and, for all intermediate bus stops, the arrival and departure time is essentially the same. To see the predicted time, use the drop-down menus to select a route, direction, and stop and you will be given the next three departure times for that stop - based on live data.

The Live Departure Times (Accessible Version) option allows you to access real-time bus departure data in a screen reader-friendly format, which can be helpful for people with visual impairments, or those with slow Internet connection speeds. Simply choose from the options provided to advance to the next option. You can use the back button at any time to return to the previous option. The next three departure times will be returned in plain text. Once you've made your choices, the resulting page can also be bookmarked for later use, and will always return the most up-to-date information.

When viewing a departure time more than 30 minutes away, NextConnect will display the route’s scheduled time.

The Google Maps option allows you to follow the real-time location of RTA buses currently on the road. When you choose this option, you will be asked to select a route from a drop-down menu. If you have a compatible browser installed, a map will load, displaying the route you chose overlaid on an interactive map of the area. All buses on that route will be shown at their current locations as bus icons that will move in real-time. If you click or hover the mouse pointer over an individual bus icon or stop, you will be given more detailed information about that item.

You can toggle the options to show Vehicles, Major Stops (timepoints), and Minor Stops on and off. By default, Vehicles and Major Stops are turned on. Clicking on an individual stop provides the name (usually a cross-street) of the stop and the next three bus departure times at that location.
